Pro-Palestine Media Site Has Been Publishing Hamas Member, Possibly Violating Law
The Electronic Intifada, which enjoys 501(c)(3) status through the Middle East Cultural and Charitable Society, has featured the writing of Asem Alnabih, who has "cursed the father of the Jews"
The Electronic Intifada (EI), a notorious pro-Palestine site that has spent the last 15 months churning out what can only be described as a grotesque mashup of gooey love letters and pro-Hamas erotica, has been proudly platforming on podcasts and publishing the writings of Asem Alnabih—spokesperson for Gaza City’s municipality, which is to say, a member of the Hamas terror regime ruling Gaza.
Ali Abunimah, the ever-reliable Hamas apologist who runs Electronic Intifada is well aware of Alnabih’s role in the Hamas government, and has explictly acknowledged this on EI. To him and his ilk, Hamas isn’t a terrorist organization but a noble “decolonial” force bravely resisting the “Zionist” menace. Naturally, on his site, Israelis are always “Zionists,” never Jews—an intentional dodge to obscure the true nature of his animus.
But Alnabih isn’t quite as skilled in the mental and linguistic gymnastics as some of his fellow Electronic Intifada contributors. True to his role in the terrorist organization, Alnabih—who’s also penned nearly 40 pieces for the Hamas mouthpiece Al Jazeera—has openly let his antisemitic freak flag fly on X, posting multiple screeds over the years that would make Goebbels blush. Here are some of the more colorful ones:

Unsurprisingly, Alnabih is quite the fan of the terrorist organization he proudly serves. Here are just several examples of posts supporting the October 7th massacre and Hamas:

It would be troubling enough for any media outlet to feature a terrorist like Alnabih. What makes it even more disturbing is that Electronic Intifada does so while enjoying tax-exempt status through its fiscal sponsorship by the Middle East Cultural and Charitable Society—for which Ali Abunimah serves as its President, Board Member, and Principal Officer.
What I’d really like to know—but what Abunimah will never reveal unless legally compelled—is whether Alnabih is being paid for his writing or podcast appearances. It’s common practice for contributors to be compensated by media outlets for their work. So, did Abunimah knowingly pay stipends to a terrorist, which would almost certainly violate U.S. anti-terror financing laws?
If he did, I suspect it just might.
This is the exact thing I want the new administration to dig deep into, across the board. It serves Hamas’ “marketing” plan to expand their propaganda campaign across the West.
